The Wood Charmer was first conceived in 1990 when I was going through mechanical engineering school at the University of New Mexico. While shopping for furniture that was affordable to me, I found the quality to be very poor. It was all made of pressboard that had inferior joinery and construction.

Being a novice woodworker, I decided to construct my own furniture out of solid hardwoods. The first piece that I made was a butcher block island. Several friends complimented the piece and asked where they might buy one. I proceeded to tell them that I had made it and they would ask if I could make them one with their dimensions and perhaps a different wood. I told them that I could and that's the story of how I started my business.

Ever since then I've been doing what I love and that is designing and building custom furniture, cabinets, gates, metal working and restorations. Every piece is built with care, an attention to detail, and quality materials that are meant to last.

Please take a look at my galleries which represent a small selection of my work over the years.
